Plants in home

Comfort Maximized – From New Plants to Furnace Service

With colder weather settled in and days that seem like there’s very little any daylight, it can be difficult to always feel like your home is a comfortable place to be. That extends far beyond doing annual furnace service too, because there are a variety of things you can do to help make your home feel comfy even when your furnace is doing its.

Here are four that we find particularly helpful here in Great Falls:

  • Seal air leaks. Air leaks, whether they’re around your windows or your doors, may mean quite a bit of air is leaving your home. And, the air that you’ve just paid to be heated or cooled is heading outside as well. There are a host of options that can help you shut those gaps, from weatherstripping to caulking, and they are relatively simple fixes for homeowners to take care of themselves.
  • Change your furnace filter. This is one of the most critical things you can do to not only increase your furnace’s efficiency, but also to help save you money. Plus, you don’t need to have your furnace service technician to do it, you can do it yourself. It’s typically recommended to switch your furnace filter every one or two months to get the most out of its benefits, but some may last even longer.
  • Buy plants. Indoor plants can provide a variety of comforts for your home. Not only are they visually attractive, they may possibly improve your indoor air quality as well because plants absorb a host of pollutants that are emitted from various common household cleaners, paints and other products.
  • Furnace service. This should be something that you’re already handling, but it never hurts to get a reminder. Having furnace service performed annually helps you make certain that your furnace is in working-order, and if there’s a need for repairs, those can be addressed so your comfort isn’t conceded.

It doesn’t have to feel tough to keep a comfortable home when winter sets in. Feel free to give us a call at 406-761-7283 or arrange an appointment online to learn more about any of these suggestions or find out more about furnaces, our furnace service or anything else comfort related.
